LISA WENGER

FOUNDER & CEO
LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST & TRICHOLOGIST

Lisa Wenger is the founder and owner of The Healing Haven of Wisconsin. She has over 35 years of experience as a licensed cosmetologist, makeup artists, and trichologist.

Her passion for cosmetology started at a very young age, growing up with a grandmother who owned several salons and performed services including hair restoration. Lisa understood the importance of identity and a woman's confidence.

Lisa's passion was fueled further when her mother-in-law, Denise, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She needed help navigating many challenges affecting her identity. The change Denise saw in the mirror was so deeply personal that it affected her desire to leave her own home.

Understanding the struggles Denise faced and the privacy she needed while embarking on her journey inspired Lisa to dedicate more than a decade to empowerment through hair replacement and cosmetic restoration.

Lisa has helped countless people discover their bravery as they face a new image of themselves during medical hair loss.

OUR STORY

The Healing Haven of Wisconsin LLC was created from the heart of a family’s journey through cancer. As Darin and Lisa Wenger watched their mother and mother-in-law, Denise A. Wenger, face breast cancer with grace and determination, they were inspired to turn her strength into a legacy of healing—one that helps others reclaim their confidence and sense of self.

During Denise's 15-year fight, Lisa stood by her side, attending wig fittings, and searching for ways to help Denise restore her confidence and identity. They were discouraged and felt like there was nowhere to turn. Wigs felt uncomfortable and scratchy, and Denise's side effects were unbearable. Yet, there were very limited resources when it came to finding good quality hair replacements that felt comfortable and looked normal.

With help and encouragement from Denise, Lisa decided to specialize in providing resources and help for others struggling with significant hair loss. In 2013, she bought a salon chair and mirror from Facebook Marketplace and opened a small clinic in the guest room of her home.

Word spread quickly as women from all over came seeking comfort, hope, and hair systems that made them feel like themselves again. She was astonished by the amount of people that had the same experience that Denise did when it came to searching for hair replacements.

As the need grew, Lisa expanded — first to a small storefront in 2015, and again in 2021 to her current location. Since then, she has helped over 2,000 women face their diagnosis, bringing them comfort and encouragement, while providing them with beautiful hair systems that make them feel like themselves again.

Through every step of growth, Lisa never lost sight of why The Healing Haven began — a daughter-in-law’s promise to make sure no one else would ever feel as lost or alone as Denise once did. What started as a small act of love in a spare room has grown into a place of hope, healing, and transformation for thousands.

The Healing Haven of Wisconsin LLC stands today as a tribute to Denise’s courage and the countless individuals who face hair loss with quiet strength. Each client who walks through our doors is met with understanding, compassion, and the reassurance that they are not alone on this journey.

Every consultation, every fitting, and every restored smile serves as a reminder of why we do what we do — to help others reclaim their confidence, their identity, and their sense of self.
